Help: Questions for online submission
Q. What's the deal with online submissions?
- First, check the Submissions Packet to see if your category is still hand submitted otherwise follow the instructions below;
- Click on Create an account - even if you made one last year, you need to
create a new one this year.
- --Enter all of the required information.
- Once you have created an account, you need to register each entry on the
site. Remember, even if you are submitting the same piece to multiple
categories, you need to register each entry for each category you are
submitting to.
- --Fill in all the required information and click Submit. Don't click it more than once.
- Once you click Submit, you will be sent a Registration Confirmation and Upload Instructions via
email, verifying that your registration was successful.
- Using your favorite FTP Client fill in the following information Make sure the connection type / Protocol is set to FTP
- -In the server input box enter 'edison.emerson.edu' (no quotes)
- -In the username input box enter your ECNET USERNAME
- -In the password input box enter your ECNET PASSWORD
- -In the input box for the initial path / folder enter
- -- 'EVVY_submission/CATID/REGNUM' (no quotes)
- Where CATID is the category ID and REGNUM is your registration number
- Additional Settings
- -- (If the above settings do not work, try entering the option below)
- -The Port option should be 21
- Once the connection is successful, you will be able to drag your submission file into the folder. It will upload and then you are all set, bring your paperwork to us at one of our collection times listed at http://submit.evvyawards.org/dropOff

Q. What if the upload failed?
Your FTP client will indicate that if failed and you should try again. If you continue to have problems please contact us at submissions@evvyawards.org. As a reminder,we are continuing every year to improve our submissios system, so please bear with us, and assist us just by letting us know when something goes wrong. Your help will make submissions much easier in the years to come!
Q. So, I want to submit my video online. How do I do this?
All videos submitted online must meet the required specifications: All digital video submissions must be QuickTime compression at either 640x480 (fullscreen 4x3) or 854x480 (widescreen 16x9) unless otherwise noted. We recommend H.264 QuickTime compression to ensure the best quality for your submission. Although any QuickTime compression is acceptable, your submission must be less than 2GB. here for Macs and PCs.
Q. So, I want to submit my audio file. How should I do this?
All Audio Categories must be uploaded in aiff format unless otherwise noted. Minimum of two channels of audio, 24-bit compression, and 48khz sample rate. Maximum file size is less than 2GB. here.
Q. My category requires that I need to submit a PDF. How do I make one?
Easy. If you are on a Mac, Open the document you need to convert and click on File --> Print. In the print window, find the PDF menu and click save as PDF. More thorough instructions for Macs are here, and for PC's are here.
